HORSE TAMING.

A very fair number of people were attracted to Messrs J. Mundell and Co.'s Horse Kepository, Geraldine, on Thursday evening last for thepurpose of witnessing an exhibition of horsetaming by Sir Andrew LeFemmg. The animal given him to operate upon was an unbroken five-yearold colt belonging to Mr Deßenzy, .of Winchester The colt was a«« rough one," indeed, and well calculated to try the eoundness of Sir Andrew's method. It was with the greatest of difficulty it was got into the rag, an old mare having to be driven in with it. Once in, the mare was removed, and Sir Andrew commenced operations. At first the colt was very fractious, >t by degrees it tamed down, and the exhibition was concluded by Sir Andrew mounting the animal and riding it about the repository amid the applause of the onlookers. The exhibition was well worthy of attendance, as it demonstrated plainly the practicability of Sir Andrew's method of taming. Sir Andrew appeared last.night in Mr Winning's grain store, lemuka, there being a good attendance. He commenced at ,8 o'clock sharp on a tbree-year-old mare belonging to Mr Woodhead, of Milford. The mare was not vicious, but very sulky and stubborn, a»d it was a quarter to 12 o'clock when he had her completely subdued. At that time he rode her around, and she appeared perfectly quiet. Sir Andrew showed wonderful patience wad perseverance throughout, and the victory was a hard won " one. He was frequently applauded, and all.present expressed themselves extremely well pleased with his performance. Sir Andrew will give antther exhibition this evening in the same place, when we hope to see a larger attendance.

"We are requested to say that the Oddfellows' sports will benefit by the Visit of Sir Andrew Le Fleming. The amount which Sir Andrew paid to Mr Winning for the use of the grain store has been handed by that gentleman to Mr J. J. Heap, N.G. of the Lodge, for the benefit of the forthcoming ■ports.
