Some of the rioters arrested were unable to pay the fines imposed, and were, in default, sentenced to terms of imprisonment varying from one to two months. The Pall Mall Gazette denounces Mr Gladstone’s lack of sympathy with the metings being held in Trafalgar Square. The Unionist Press insist that Mr Gladstone’s arguments are equally applicable to Ireland. In anticipation of renewed rioting on Sunday next, an official announcement has been made that the magistrates throughout London will be in attendance to-morrow ( Thursday), Friday and Saturday, to swear in citizens as special constables. Nov, 16. The Radical leaders have resolved to hold next Sunday’s demonstration in Hyde Park instead of m Trafalgar Square, and await the decision of the legality of forbidding assemblages in the latter place before resuming meetings there.
