Temuka Licensing Committed. The quarterly meeting of the Temuka Licensing Committee takes place on the Bth December,
Ohuboh Parade.— The Temuka R;fLig will attend a Church Parade at St. Saviour’s ta-morrow morning. Members are to fall in at the Drillshed ul 10.13. Cricket.— The cricket match between Vernon’s English Eleven and a South Australian Eleven concluded at Adelaide on Tuesday, being won by the former with 70 runs to spare.
Chess, —Mr G, Bolton, of Temuka, paid a visit to Pleasant Point on Tuesday evening for the purpose of meeting some of the chessplayers of that township. Nine games were played simultaneously by Mr Bolton, and of these he won eight and drew one. Train Arrangements nob the Holidays. —ln our advertising columns will be found tho train arrangements for the Festival week at Ohristohuroh, and tho Prince of Wales’ Birthday. On the 11th the morning train to Christchurch will leave somewhat earlier than usual, and a special train from Christchurch to Oamaru, stopping at intermediate stations, will leave the former place the same evening at 8.45 p.m.
Himok'Sohooh Committee.— The monthly meeting of the Hilton School Committee was held on the 28th October. PresentHesses Robert Skinner (chairman), Beattie, Hide, and Tpomoy. A letter was read from the Board of Education confirming the appoint* ment of Miss Annie Beattie as a pupil teacher. The head waiter’s report was read) and considered by the Committee to be very satisfactory. Two accounts were passed for payment, and the chairman slated that he had received seven shillings from Mr Pranks for the use of the school,

The Geraldine Paris.—A public meeting is to be held at Geraldine on Monday evening, the 14th met,, to take into consideration the best means of., raising funds for restoring and beautify? ing the large and small parks.
