OtJB OIL WOBXB.—At the South Pacific repeatad delays bare taken pi ice ovrng to the Band line breaking, and leafing the baler down the hole. To obviate the possibility of a serious accident, Mr Stubbs hai kindly lent this company the new sand line just armed for the Mißerra. The rope was despatched up, together with the balance of 4iio. pipe, last Monday. Mr Weaver left for the works on Tuesday, and it is to be hoped that no further delay will occur. At the Minerva the neoeeaary preparations for starting drilling are being rigorously pushed forward. The boiler and three dray loads of plant were delivered at the works last week, and men are putting up the new derrick. Four coils of rope and 500 ft of pipe have arrived, togethar wth an llin. bit. This completes the necessary plant for starting. The late bad weather has been against the Company, but it has not apparently damped their energy.—fiiohange.
