THE TIMARU SHOW.

President: Geo. H, Rhodes, .Esq. 5 VicePresident; J. S. Rutherford, Eiq.; Treasurer: W. Moody, E»q. ; Committee of Management: W. Balfour, A. Clark, A. E. Cox, B. Davie, E. Elworthy, H. Ford, J. Goldie, A. Grant, K. F. Gray, Thos. Hamlyn, Wm. Hay, Rd. Irving, 1. Kelland, D. McLaren, Root. Mackay, A. MoPherson, 0. N. Orbell, A. C. Pringle, E. T. Bbodes, R. H. Rhodes, Wm. Stevenson, Thos. Teschemaker, Geo. Talbot, A. Wyliej F. W. Btubbs, Secretary.

The twenty-second annual show under the auspices of the Timaru Agricultural and Pastoral Association took place on Tuesday and Wednesday last. As usual there was nothing on the ground on the first day except the sheep and agricultural implements, the former being judged. In point of number the exhibits were hardly as numerous as at last year's show, but in quality nothing could be desired. The weather was most delightful (the Timaru A. and P. Association are always most fortunate as regards the weather) and the attendance of the public on Wednesday was very large. Crowds

of country visitors poured on to the ground, and the scene was a most animating and pleasing one. A cheap excursion tram that ran from Chriatchurch to Timaru also added considerably to the attendance. The

various licensed and other booths appeared to do a first-rate trade, being generally well thronged with customers. The various amusements also appeared to be well patronised,

and the playing of the brass band which was on the ground added greatly to the pleasure of those present. The judges, stewards, and

other officers of the Olub fulfilled their duties well, and gave every satisfaction. Mr Stubbs, the indefatigable Secretary of the Association, was, as usual, j most obliging and courteous, and we have to tender him our best thanks for the services he rendered to our reporter during the compilation of this report. The following is the prize list:— SHEEP.
