[By TELEaairH.] (From Our Special Correspondent.) Hamilton, Oct. 24. Fraser and Son, of Auckland, have completed the treatment of three parcels of dirt taken from the farm of E. W. Hanmer (between Waitoa and TeAroha), which yielded bullion varying in value from 16s to £2 12s per ton. Mr Anderson, representing the Christchurch Company which purchased Mr Smith’s land, basket returned to Te Aroha from the Thames,, where he took a large parcel of seven' tons of dirt for treatment at th.e School of Mines there, but be is reticent as to the result.

The general opinion is that the dirt treated by Messrs Pond and Whitaker, taken from Smith’s, was “ salted,” but by whom is enshrouded in mystery. It is believed, nevertheless, that the - dirt contains gold and silver in payable quantities.
