GERALDINE SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
The monthly meeting of this Committee was held in the schoolroom on Wednesday evening last. Present—Mem* W. S. Maslin (Chairman), J. Cunningham, -Q. Taylor, J. Biordan, C. E.Sherratt, stw A. White. MINUTES. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. master's retort. The Master’s report was read, It showed the average attendance for , the last quarter to be 191, as, compared with -- 186 the previous quarter.' It also called the Committee’s attention to the state of V the drain. He also stated that he wished r* to attend the examination of the New Zealand University between the 14 h and 30 h Nov., and that he had aalred leave of absence from the Education Board for that purpose. Also that Mr J. Henderson, a student in the Otago University, had consented to act as his substitute. The leave of absence was concurred in. The matter of drainage was left in the hands of the Visiting Committee. Visitors. Mr Biordan, on behalf of the Visitors, Stated that he had visited the school dm* ing the month, and found everything working satisfactorily. Messrs Sherratt and White were up* pointed visitors for the ensuing month. MODEM. It was decided to obtain a number of mode's.for the use of the drawing pupils, , INSURANCE.,,. It was decided |o apply to the Board of I Education for a refund of cost of insuring 1 the school building, ‘ ‘ i ACCOUNTS.
