A GENTLEMAN.

TO THK EDITOR. Sir, —I notice that Mr Khodes does not admit that he ridiculed the spelling of some of the words in a qaestion handed in to him by a working man at Pleasant Valley. I can, and every one present can also, positirely state that he did. In reading the question he pointed out that "Hall" was spelt "Hawl," and "right" was spelt "write." Of course, being an aristocrat, he could afford to ridicule the spelling of a poor working man, but a gentleman would not be guilty of such conduct. His own supporter* were ashamed of what he did.—l am, etc., As Elbctoe.
