Loudon, Sept. 9. Mr W. O’Brien haying failed to appear to-day at Mitchelstown County Court, where be was summoned under the Grimes Act to answer a charge of inciting tenant* to resist the law, a warrant has baen issued for hie arrest. Upon the proceedings in Court terminating, a meeting of Nationalists was held at Mitchelstown, at which an official reporter, under police protection, was present. Several attempts were made by the crowd to assault the reporter, which the police repulsed, but in the scuffle which took place a number of constables were severely injured, and they were finally compelled to fire upon the mob. Later, In the conflict between the police and the people at Mitche/slowc two rioters were shot dead. Sept. 10. In the diaturbat.ces at Mitche'etown yesterday 54 police and 150 civilians were injured. All is quiet in the neighhood to-day. Later. In connection with the O’Brien dis pule 3000 people assembled in the centre of Mitcbelstown, and among them were Messrs Labouchero and Condon, as well as several other members of the Hons* of Commons. A dozen police were escorting an official reporter, who strongly resisted interference, The police were reinforced, and in their attempts to arrest the ringleaders were furiously resisted, by the crowd and bludgeons and stones were used, seriously injuring many. The police were driven into the barracks the crowd stoning and surrounding the barracks. Subsequently the police sallied forth and fired on the mob, killing two and wounding four.
