A CONTRADICTION.
TO THE EDITOR. Dear Sie, —"Will you kindly through the medium of your columns permit me to correct a false impression that I find is daily gaining ground, viz., that I am connected with the editorial department of the Temtjka Leader, and that I am the political secretary of Mr Twomey? Both these statements I desire most emphatically, to deny. My connection with the Leader is in the capacity of reporter only, and will terminate with the present election. As to the second statement, it should be hardly necessary to deny it, but for the satisfaction of Mr Twomey’s supporters, who if they thought he (Mr Twomey) had engaged me as his secretary would have reason to complain of my luke-warm-ness, Idp so. lam not Mr Twomey’s secretary, nor do I intend to take any prominent part whatever in the election. I shall exercise my vote as my reason dictates to me, and as a reporter continue to act impartially, as I have ever done.—Yours, etc., Alpd. W. Gaze. Temuka, Sept. 12th, 1887.
