RAUKAPUKA LICENSING COMMITTEE.

The quarterly meeting of this Oom- ■ mitteo was heli in the Courthouse, Geraldine, yesterday. Present—Messrs W, U. Slack (Chairman), 0. Q. Tripp, A, H. Brisco, and Hon, L. Walker. ; MINUTES. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. FIBE-BBOAPBA It was resolved that the fire-escapes in all the hotels in the district should be tried in the presence of the constable, WATKK-TRODaHS, Some discussion took place as to the accommodation provided at the various hotels bolding accommodation licences for the watering of horses. Finally Mr Tripp proposed, Mr Walker seconded, and it was carried—“ That water-troughs be erected at those hotels for the watering of cattle and horses.” , ,• INSPECTOR'S REPORT. The Inspector’s report on the houses ■ in the district was read and considered gatisfactory. TRANSFER OF LICENSES. An Application for a temporary transfer of the license of the Crown Hotel, Geraldine, from Reuben Johnston to Thomas- Markham not having been applied for in time for this meeting, the Committee adjourned it till the I9th imt. A permanent transfer of the license of the Bash Hotel from Daniel Mcliraitb to Michael Spillane was granted. This being all the business the meeting adjourned till the 19th inst.
