In the Legislative Assembly to-night the tariff proposals of the Government were amended on the motion of the Treasurer. The duties on sugar, the produce of cane, was reduced from 3s 6d to 3s per cwt., and on sugar refined in Victoria from 2s 6d to 2s. A Bill embodying the changes was introduced.
