The Natives burned at Whatiwhati (Auckland) were man and wife, Kairangi and Tenaa, formerly of New Plymouth. The glove fight at Dunedin for £25 a side and the middle weight championship, between W, Murphy and Fvddes took place on Tuesday night. Murphy knocked Faddes out of time in the second round. The Onehunga Ironworks recommenced active operations yesterday. Arrangements have been made with Mr Hughes, of Sydney, who has taken oyer the works. It is his intention to carry on the smelting of sand, a work in which ho has had a good deal of experience elsewhere. At Tauranga yesterday James Dwell, aged 13, a son of Oolonel Dowell, was killed through being thrown from a horse.
