RESIGNATION OF LORD C. BERESFORD.
London, July 27.
Lord Charles Beresford lias tendered his resignation as one of the Lord Commissioners of the Admiralty, owing to a technical breach of etiquette in the signalling of a private message from the Queen’s yacht during the naval review at Spithead. The particulars, as given by the newspapers, are as follow : The Queen was in the saloon of the Royal yacht receiving the captains of the vessels which took part in the naval review at bpithead. Daring this ceremony Lord C. Beresford signalled to his wife, who was on board the Enchantress, appointing a rendezvous after the review, The rules of the service forbid signalling while the sovereign is on board except by Royal command, and on ascertaining this Lord C. Beresford sent in his resignation to the Admiralty. A hope is expressed that the Queen will reinstate him,
