DREAMING OF A MURDER.
Brisbane, July 11.
Some mysterious circumstances hsve transpired in connection with the recent murder of Mr Edward Hawkins, the manager of the Tieryboo station, who was found dead in his bed shot through the head. Mrs Granbauer, the wife of a settler on the Oondomine, states that she saw the murder of Mr Hawkins enacted in a dream several times, and that all the circumstances are vividly fixed on her mind. She communicated with the police, and was taken to Brisbane gaol, where a number of prisoners were drawn up. She selected ons prisoner, and declared him to be the man whom she saw in her dreams, The prisoner selected was William Clayton, who was amflied on sua. picion of the murder of Hawkins, and was awaiting trial. On Clayton being asked ho declared that he had never seen the woman before, and she was equally confident that she had never seen him except in the dream. Clayton, who was alleged to have carried on an illicit intercourse with Mrs Hawkins, has s nee been discharged, the Attorney-General declining to file a bill.
