TIMARU HARBOR BOARD.
A mealing of the Timarvt Harbor Beard was hold on • Wednesday last, when Captain Sutter’s resignation as a member of the Board was accepted with regret. It was decided to retain £25 due to the contractors for the now dredge, Messrs Me Ewan and Co, on account of the unsatisfactory elate in which the machinery had arrived, A letter from the Timaru agent of the e. It was also decided to make a further claim upon McEwan and Co. ns soon as the dredge is erected. The Engineer reported that no monoliths had been laid since last report. The dredge would bo launched in about four weeks. On the recommendation of the Standing Committee, Captain Clarkson was appointed Harbor Master at £250 per annum, Mr J. Thomson was ap. pointed Harbor Muster’s coxswain at £3 per week, and the salary of Mr J. Watkins was raised £lO per annum. This rffects a saving of £250 per annum.
The Harbor Master, Copt. Webster, reported the arrival of 80 vesuris during the month. He conialium’d in strolls' terms about his summary dismissal.
