Among the incidents of the flood may be mentioned the fact that some pigs were washed into a publichouee od the GreyBeefton road, and they perched themselves on. a billiard tab'e. There .were many narrow escapes from loss of life, but happily, no fatal accident. The Rosamond rode at her moorings all n ght safely. Though some of the piles were swinging,, ,the .foundation in which they y/Qra fUivw having boein scoured aw y, the wii-rf sti'l remains intaet, but very shaky. The Rosamond and St. Kildi were thev only boats in the harbor, but 'h. HoraldaodMoa are lying outside. The weather has cleared c» siderably. There was a'tremendous scour where the kosamond was lying at the head of the new wharf. -'''T'liiV morning Bounding gave 39ft between the Rosamond and the wharf, and 42ft oil the other side. It is impossible at present to arrive at any estimite of the loss.
