NEVv ZEALAND. Wellington, July 1. The Customs revenue for June only amounted to £75,221, the smallest sum 'akeu in any month for years past. In June, 1886, the amount wan £100,144. There is a large falling off at nil the chief ports. It should be explained that these figiPt s represent the nett receipts, after deducing refunds of duties covet'd under the resolution of the House and subsequently rescinded. These refunds amounted to about £5500, so tl.at even with this allowance the deficit;' cy is vo»v startling. The beer du'y was £3566, as against £3487 for Jun 1 , 1886. Shillings and pence are omitted ic a 1 ca-es. Ti e railway revenue for the first two months (April and Msy) of the current fin mcini year was £188,887, as against £178,079 last year—a fair inciease. The wmking expenses absorbed only 60 per cent, of the receipts, as against 63 last year. The traffic showed a large increase in grain and minurala, but a decrease in live stock. Toe Customs revenue for the June qiiiiitof, the first quarter of tho financial year, was, in round numbers, approximately £297,000 ns against £310,000 last year.
