THE LATE FOOTBALL MATCH.
TO THE EDITOR. Sib, —Your reporter, as oeuajl, has given a perfectly correct account of the football match, Temuka y. Geraldine, played in the Temuka Park on Saturday last. I think, however, Ibat in justice to the Geraldine team a few more facts might have been added. These, perhaps, he may not have bad an opportunity of gleaning, and with your kind permission I will now supply them. Only eight of the Geraldine 15 turned up at the last moment, bat rather than disappoint the Temuka team and the public they decided to go to Temuka. Picking np a s'ranger on the road and with the assistance of some three volunteers from Temuka they managed to p'aco m the field 12 men who had never practised together. The consequence was that notwithstanding the excellent assistance rendered by the volunteers, foremost among whom must be mentioned Dr Campbell, the Geraldine men were severely beaten by their opponents. Hoping that I have not trespassed too much on your valuable space, and trusting that we may soon meet Temuka on more equal terms.—l am, etc., Centre-Forward.
