It is essentially a LOC &L PAPER, devoted to the interests of the district. It is impossible for the papers .published in luige centres of population to pay the same attention to the requirements of the district as ii does. It has given its advocacy to EVERY MOVEMENT for the ADVANCEMENT' OF THE DISTRICT. It has never been known to take the side of the Strong against the 1 Weak. While it has upheld the Rights of Working Men, it has always recognised the Rights of Property, The farmers of this district have found it an ARDENT ADVOCATE for RELIEF being given to; them from the* burden of a USURIOUS RATE OF INTEREST .The scheme of a NAIIONAL BANK—originated in its columns, and consistently advocated by it—has now been taken up in Parliament, and if it passes GREAT BENEFITS will accrue from it. On these grounds the Proprietor bases his claim for support, and he trusts-he will not be disappointed.
