FOOTBALL.

WINCHESTER F. TBMUKA. The first rnitch between the above Clubs took place on Saturday at Winchester. - Outten captained the Temuka team, and Geo. Smith the Winchester. The game was played in two spells of 40 < minutes each. : The following represented , their respective Clubs : —Temuka : Fullback, J. Blyth ; half-backs, J. Clinch, W. Hobbs, and F. K. Gray; quarterbacks; Browne and Dyson; forwards, Outten, Gunnion, G. Motley, D. Stewart, Cross, Carr, J. Demutb, 0. Olliver, and 0. King. Winchester ; Full-back, R. McLeod ; half-backs, Jas, Austin, A. Shallard, and Ti Harts;

■ G. Smith and John Austin; forwards, Stewarts (3), F. Shallard, Bennett, Simp- ' son, M. McLeod, Lfvia, and Brinkman. I Cntton won the toss, and took kick off. The scene of play for the first part of the game shifted quickly from one end of the ground to the other.
