During a series of evictions at Bodyke the mob threw vitriol and boiling water on the bailiffs. Mr Michael Davitt, who was present, delivered an incendiary speech, Mr Gladstone, speaking at Cardiff, declared that 10,000 citizens of Melbourne had unanimously condemned coercion. Later. In the House of Commons last night, the third dense of the Irish Criminal Law Amendment Bill passed through Committee without amendment.
