MOUNT PEEL ROAD BOARD.

The monthly meeting ©f this Board was held in the Rood Board office, PeelForoßt, on Monday, the 16th inst. Present— The Hon. J. B. A. Aclaud (Chairman), Messrs R. Mackay, R. Thew, and G. J. Dennistoun. MINUTES. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDKNCE. The following correspondence was read and considered : From Rpcr»>lary to the Railway League, for wan I ii:r f'rra of petition to Parliament for the introduction of Mr Vaile's system of railway charges.—No action was taken. From the Geraldine County Council, demanding the payment of the Board's contribution to the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board for the current half year.—The amount was passed for payment. From Messrs Moody and Zieuler, granting permission to take gravel from bind adjoining the Opuha Gorge road. From Mr W. Morris, quoting a price at which he would supply oats and chaff.— The Overseer was directed to get a supply of oats at the price mentioned. From Mr U. 6. Tripp, in reference to matters connected with the recnnt election of the Board.—The Clerk whs directed to reply lo Mr Tripp on the subject, and to forward him a copy of the Chairman's memo. SMALL BIRDS' NUISANCE. The Clerk was directed to procuie a supply of wheat, and have it poisoned for the destiuction of small birds. ACCOUNTS.
