CHRISTCHURCH STOCK MARKETS.

At the Addington yards on Wednesday, the supply of stock was an average one. Fat Cattle—The supply of fat cattle-was rather a heavy one, principally medium weighro, very suitable for the trade. The demand was good. Steers sold at fmm £4 15s to £6 10s; heifers and fat oows from £3 17s 6d to £6 2s 6J, being for primest ful'y 18s per 1001 b, down to about 15s, ancorcing to quality. Stores —In the store cattle market a nice line of two-year-old steers was passed unsold, a few dry oows scliing at from 3Qi to 45a per head. Dairy— There was again a large supply of dairy oattle, and the same good demand that has been seen of late still existed. Pat 3heep—There was a good number of fat sheep sent forward. Values took a decided rise, and all lots were oleared at a substantial advance on late rates. The heaviest of the crossbred wethers fetched at from 12s to 12s 6i per hesd; medium weights, It 6d to 9s; crossbred ewes ranged from 5« 6d to 9s, merino wethers at from 4s 3d to 6» 3d, for medium sorts up to 9s 6d, and 10s for some good quality combined with weight. The price of mutton for the day ranging from lid up to a shade under 2d per lb, according to quality. Stores-A small number of stores were yarded and few graziers present. A line of two tooth mixed sexes sold at 4» 41 per head, little else being done. , Fat Lambs—The fat lamb season may be said now to be over ; the few lots on offer sold at from 4a 6d to 5b 6d per head. Pigs—The caring season has now fairly commenced, and there was a pretty good show of baconers on offer. Various lines sold at from 33s to 42s per head, as nearly a 8 possible 3id per lb. Porkers sold well at from 18s to 27i, stores being dull of sale at from 6s to lis per head.
