S.O.J.C. AUTUMN MEETING. The Autumn Meeting under the auspices of tha South Canterbury Jockey Club commenced on Thursday. They were very poorly attended, probably owing to the lack of publicity given to them. District Plate, of 40 sovs; Mr A. Cowie's The Brewer, 1; Messrs M. and C. Hobbs’ Jackal!, 2. Time—2mio 47aec. Dividend, £3 7s. Timaru Cup, of 150 sovs; second horse to receive 20 sovs, and third .10 sovs,— Mr G. G. Stead’s Marion, 1; Mr Sher-
win’s Quibble, 2. Time— 2mio 33seo. Dividend, £4. Welter Handicap, of 25 sovs; 6 furlongs,—Mr M. Sherwin's Viking, 1; Mr J. Pilbrow’s Gaiety, 2. Time—lmin Dividend, £l2 12s. Selling Hack Race, 1 mile.—Mr S. Brown’s Urland, 1. Dividend, £2 12s 6d. Fiyiner Handicap, of 35 bov* ; 6 furlongs.—Mr W. W. Milne's Mirella, 1; Mr A. Comyn’s The Gem, 2. Time— Imin 16£secs.
