The Canadian Parliament was Opened to-day by the Marquis of Lansdown, the Governor-General. In bia speech Lord Lansdown stated that negotiations -between tbe Canadian and United States Governments relative to the fisheries disputes were progressing,| and hopes were entertained that an honorable and satisfactory settlement would result therefrom. Meantime measures would be taken to protect the Canadian inshore fisheries. AUSTRALIAN CABLE.
Melbourne, April 15. Arrived—Muraroa, Sydney, April 15. The Governor received a telegram from London conveying the Queen’s sympathy with the sufferers by the Bulli coliiary disaster. The Legislative Assembly sat all night until this morning debating the Budget. It now stands adjourned till Wednesday, when Mr Copeland’s adverse motion will be discussed, April 17.
