In the Dunedin Police Court on Thursday, Michael Houlihan was fined £SO and forfeiture, for fraudulently neglecting to enter in his brewers book, as required by the Beer Duty Act, the removal from his brewery of three hogaheads of beer sold by him in January. The libel action McMahoo and Leilch y. Evening Post resulted in a verdict for plaintiff! for £l5O. Costs were allowed on the lower scale. The claim was for £IO,OOO, and the libel was contained in a paragraph published on January 15th atatiog that plaintiffs had left for Fiji, leaving a good many anxious enquirers behind them, At a special meeting of the Accident Association of New Zealand at Dunedin on Thursday afternoon a formal resolution was carried to wind up the company.
