ASHBURTON MARKETS. Mr E, G. Staveley (for the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited ) reports' on the Ashburton sale, 29th inst. as follows: There were large entries of stock, including about 12,000 sheep, mostly Stores, very few fat sheep coming for ward. The market was quiet, with no alteration in values, Ordinary, fat ccws made £4 15s; good quality, £5 12s 6d to, £6 2s 6d ; fat two-tooth crossbreds, 6s sd. We sold cull crossbred ewes for Mr John Williams, Is 9d ; others, with more condition making. 2s and 2s 6d. For same owner we placed call merino ewes, Is Id ; others bringing 9d upwards. ; A large proportion of the entry consisted of crossbred weaners, the best of which brought 3s '6d, 4s, and 4s sd. Mixed ages) crossbred ewes for breeding made 8s 4d, and merino do Is 10d. For Mr Coster we sold cull merino wethers at Is; mixed two-tooth cross-, breds, in fair condition, realised 3s Bd,

AUSTRALIAN MARKETS. Melbourne, March 29. The Melbourne Manager of the National Mortgage and Agency Company, Limited, of New Zealand reports on the local grain market as follows : Wheat, 3s lOd to 3a lid, a shade firmer ; Barley, 4s 6d to 5a 2d, quieter, but steady. New Zealand oats—Peed oats, 2s 3d to 2s 10d, no improvement; milling sorts, 2s lid to 3s, steady; under bond, 2s Id to 2s 3d, quiet; ryegrass, 8s 9d to 4s.

ENGLISH MARKETS. London, March 26. The wool sales continue firm. Today’s catalogue comprised 8000 bales, March 28, > Adelaide wheat is quoted at 37s jj Adelaide flour, 26s ;.
