Alfred Qreenaway, sqlifutor, Auoklapd, was sentenced to a moothta imprisonment with hard labor, for indecency. Two rogp named Wilson and I£err, who had been knocking about the Alford Forest Hotel since the Hth inst., had a fight on Tuesday. They wgrq separated by the landlord, and Wilson went to bed, where he was found dead next morning. His mate was arrested, but a post-mortem shewed that death was the result of apoplexy. The case of Alexander Masked v. Tuapeka County Qoqqcil, claim £498 7s lOd, damages for alleged default of the Council in not maintaining the Beaumont pqnt in an efficient state and worked by a competent man, was comm enCo d at the Supreme Geuj?t, Dunedin, on Thursday. This was a case in which Masked s horses were drowned and his waggon lost in the river, A young womau who was on the punt at the time WM drowned
