The Overseer’s report was read as follows “Tl j Chairman and Members of the Geraldine Boad Board. “ Gentlemen, —I have the honnr to report for the information of the Board as under : —As nearly the whole of the contractors and men have been harvesting very little work has been done durum iho pas;, month. The shingling of Donkin’s road has been proceeded with, and U making fair' progress. One of Ihe old i iinbi-i bridges in the Kakahu Yalley has given way ; the bearerand back lining are quite rotten. It wiL either require extensive repairs or a new bridge. If the latter is decided on I should advise concrete to be used in the place of piles in the abutiner . I have patched up and repaired (hi old bridge pending tho decision of the Board.—l have slaked out the booms above the Orari bridge, and have examined the river with a view to diverting the stream. In its present state this could easily be done by placing a dam of shingle sacks across the stream, and scooping out a narrow channel. —Clarke’s road, Kakahu Busli, is laid out to run up a lull too steep for dray traffic. 1 have therefore called tenders for that portion available for wheeled traffic only.—The dayman at the Waitohi Flat having left the district I would suggest, that a man be placed at the Kakahu Bush. This would be more central than Waitohi Flat, and he could also attend to the main road to Mr Wigley’s, and to the Beautiful Yalley road. —Since last meeting I have received the sum of £4 16s 3i, outstanding rates, leaving a balance of about £5 due for the present year. I herewith submit aI s' of defaulters.—A supply of oats is required for the Board’s draught horse. —I am, eto.,
