AUCTIONEER'S REPORT. TIMARU. Mr Moss Jonas reports for the week ended Saturday:— Sheep—At the regular sale of stock held At the Washdyke yards on Thursday, the 24th instant, the supply of sheep penned of all classes was small. The haivest being now in full swing, and the low prices ruling for all kinds of stock, has the effect of keeping the market bare, but I hope sith the showers we are now getting, and with improved pastures and better prices, that I shall be able to make a better report n«xt week. 1 sold 87 fat wethers at 7s ;13 do-at 6?; 28 crossbred ewes at 2s 5d ; 50 lambs *t 2s sd; and privately during the week 180 fat sheep at 6a 6d, and 300 hoggets at 3s lOd. Cattle—The market is well supplied with fat c ittle, in fact I may say that they are plentiful at up to my quotations of last week. At the Washdyke yards the supply was an average one, and a few found purchasers dt market rates, but the majority of the entry was turned out unsold. Many of the butchers Bupply themselves trom private sources, which consideiably interferes with the demand at the yards. Store Cattle—Only a small entry. I sold 17 head steers and heifers at £2 15a; 4 heifers at £2 5s ; 19 steers and heifers at £2 19s 6d ; and a young bull at £1 ss.

Horses—Owing to the wet weather there was only a small entry at ray bazaar to-day, and consequently little business was done. 1 have enquiries for jjood young plough sorts.
