INTERPROVINCIAL NEWS.
A two-roomed house at Gisborne, un* occupied, was found to be on fire on Saturday evening. It is supposed to be incendiarism, ns scrub was found burning against the wall inside. Ibe barque Aikshaw arrived at Gisborne on Monday morning from London, 114 days out. Captain G. Tait died on the voyage on January Ist, and was buried at sea, He was a married man. A series of accidents occurred at the sailing racs at Napier on Saturday. Five boats started, and before reaching the first buoy the halyard of the Comet carried away, t'he Wave Queen lay to to reef, and got out of the race. fiUlf-a-milo further the mast of the Besolute went by the board. Nearing the second buoy the Nautilus and Fairy were close together, and the latter, in jibbing, capsized, and the Nautilus ran into the bull and stove her in. There wore plenty of boats about and everyone was rescued, the wrecks being towed in. At a bowling match at Dunedin, Christchurch beat Dunedin by six points, and Roslyn by 19 points.
