THE SITUATION IN EUROPE.
Paris, Feb. 8. In the Chamber of Deputies yesterday a credit - of. 35,000.000 fr for military purposes, was adopted., ’ Brussels, Feb. 8. In the Chamber of Representatives to-day the Minister «{ War asked for a military credit of 20 00(1.000 francs to increase the armaments <>t Belgium, London, Feb. 9. The French Chamln t of Deputies has voted 30,000,000 frai-c° for increasing and improving the French navy, Feb. 10. At a banquet given last night by (be Associated Chamber of Commerce, Sir J. Ferguson, Under-Secretary for, Foreign Affairs, expressed the opinion that a European war was unlikely to break, out at the present juncture.
