AROWHENUA TOWN BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the a hr- re Beard was held last evening. Present Messrs Lee (Chairman), Story, and Edgeler. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Letters were read from the Treasury, relative to sums of L 394 17s lid on account of sales of deferred payment ssetions, and Ll 5 on account of subsidy. Accounts to the amount of L 9 15s were passed for payment. The Overseer’s report was then read. He recommended to raise the concrate walls of Ackrbyd’s bridge, to redeok it, and to repair and repaint the hand railing {also to clean the creek from Dyson’s bridge to the Cemetery, the same to be lot in two contracts. On the motion of Mr Story, seconded by Mr Edgeler it was resolved to call for* tenders for Ackroyd’s bridge as suggested by the Overseer; also for tenders for cleaning the creek in two contracts. On the motion of Mr Story, seconded by Mr Edgeler it was resolved—“ .that the Clerk report on the street between Hornsby Street and Shaw Street,” In reply to Mr Story the Clerk stated
that op to the present time be bed received only £7 Oe for rates. Mr Story moved— u I'hat a week’s notice be given to Mr Welle, to leave the Board’s cottage, as it is required as an office." Mr Edgeler seconded the motion and it wae carried, It wag decided to bold a special meeting on the 21st to receive landers. The meeting then adjowned.
