The total quantity of wheat afloat for the United Kingdom is 1,990,000 quarters, being 80,000 quarters less than last week. Australian beef tallow is fid higher, 25s fid; mutton, fid higher, 30s, New Zealand mutton is selling firm at 4ld to 4}d. Jan. 29. . The wool market is firm. Since the opening of tbe series 60,000 bales hare been catalogued, out of which 2900 have been withdrawn. Messrs Jacomb and 00. report an average rise of scoured merinos of fully 10 per cent.; other sorts from 7to 10 per cent.; good lambs, 10 per cent.; crossbreds, 5 lo 10 per cent. The correct number of bales available is 250,000. The wheat market is depressed, and no ficsh sales are reported. The supply is above tbe market demand. Quotations for Australian cargoes on the spot are unchanged. Sellers of tbe new crop are asking 27s 3d.
