London J»d. 13. A conference between Mr Chamberlain, Mr John Morlej, Sir George Trevelyan; Sir Wm. Vernon Harcourt, and Lord Ilerschell was opened to-day, and will probably be of a protracted characted. A conference of Liberal leaders, to discuss the Irish question, met again to-day, when it was decided to adjourn until the assembling of Parliament. It is understood thus far that no result has been attained by the conference. Jan. 14. Harsh evictions in K erry are exciting the peasantry. Jan. 15. Irish farmers selling stock under Dillon’s plan of campaign are declared bankrupt. Ibe peasantry are resisting evictions in Kerry, and in consequence many arrests have been made. Later, Scenes of a harrowing description occurred at evictions which have taken place in Glenbigh, County Kerry. The tenantry resisted the police, who arrested 25 oi them.
