AUSTRALIAN MABKBTS. Sydney, Jan. 7. New Zealand wheat is selling at 3b 9d ; oats, Is 9d to 2s 3d ; maize, per 561bs, 3s lOd. ENGLISH MABJTETS. London Jan. 6. Scotch pig iron is Is higher, viz., 475. r> ,; The woo? hTarket is qniereir, f but steady. The total arrivals to date for the next sales are 120,000 bales. Jan. 9. The tone of the wheat market is quieter, but late prices have been steadily raaintnined." ' Two Australian cargoes of 8000 arid 2000 quarters respectively have been sold at 38s. American shipments are increasing, and, in consequence, New York prices are weaker. The New Zealand Loan aad Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) have just received the following cablegram from , London, dated 6th Jan., 1887 : Wool—Market is firmer. The total quantity sold by private treaty since last sales is 1500 bales. The Continental demand is good.
