Tbe objeot for which this Prospectui »> submitted to the Public is, tofloataeompauy for the purpose of manufacturing Jam and Preserving Fruit. 2. During the past few few years large quantities of Bruit bare gone to absolute waste in this district, owing to there being no Market for the sale of it, and thus an avenue through which much wealth might be acquired is at present shut up. Everyone must recognise that it is desirable to open up this avenue as soon as posiible; also that the district is admirably adapted for fruit, growing, and that is an industry which would provide profitable employment for junior members of families owning small areas of land. 9. Furthermore the most diligent inquiries have led to the belief that the manufacture of Jam and the preserving of Fruit is very remunerative, and Shares in the proposed OompanymeyreasonablybeejpeoAedto pay good dividends! i. It i| undmteod that the district at present produces sufficient fruit to make between forty and fifty tons of jam a year, and if the proposed Factory is established, and the people are thus provided with a I certain market for their fruit, the supply will doubtless greatly increase, and the industry wftl proportionately expand. ft. On these grounds the Provisional t Directors are confident of success, and there* fore express a hope that fruit-growers and others will see the desirability of taking up ' up shares at once, so as to enable operations 3 to be commenced this season, and alio the ) absolute neoeisity that all the shares should > be taken up, so as to avoid lwingjj to pay I interest on borrowed capital
