The objeot for which this Prospectus is •nbmitted to the Public is, to float a company for the pirpose of manufacturing J»m and Preserving Fruit. 2. During the pest few few yean large quantities of Fruit hare gone to absolute waste in thii district, owing to there being no Market for the sale of it, and thus an avenue through which much wealth might be acquired is at present shut up. Everyone most recognise that it is desirable to open up this arenue as soon as possible; also that the district ia admirably adapted for fruit, growing, and that is an industry which would provide profitable employment for junior members of families owning small areas of land. 3. Furthermore the most diligent inquiries hare led to the belief that the manufacture of Jam and the preserving of Fruit is very remunerative, and Shares in the proposed Company may reasonably be expeoted to pay good dividends, ; 4. It ia understood that the distriot at present produoea sufficient fruit to make betwefo forty and fifty tons of jam "a year, and if the proposed Factory is established, and the people are thus provided with a ! certain market for their fruit, the supply will doubtless greatly increase, and the industry will proportionately expand. I. On these grounds the Provisional Directors are confident of success, and there* fore express a hope that fruit-growers and others will see the desirability of taking up up shares at onqe, so as to enable operations to be commenced this season, and also the absolute neeessity that all the shares should be taken.up, so as to avoid having k to pay interest on borrowed capital
