The object for which this Prospectus is submitted to the Public is, to float a company for the purpose of manufacturing Jam and Preserving Fruit. 2. During the past few few yean large quantities of Fruit have gone to absolute waste in this district, owing to there being no Market for the sale of it, and thus an avenue through which much wealth might be acquired ii at present shut up. Everyone must reoogniee that it is desirable to open up this avenue as soon as possible | also that the district is admirably adapted for fruitgrowing, and that is an industry whioh would provide profitable employment for junior members of families owning small areas of land. 3. Furthermore the most diligent inquiries have led to the belief thai the manufacture of Jam and the preserving of Fruit is very remunerative, and Shares in the proposed Company may reasonably be expected to pay good dividends. 4. It is understood, that the district at present produoeß Buffioient fruit to make between forty and fifty tons of jam a year, and if the proposed Factory is established, and the people are thus provided with a certain market for their fruit, the supply will doubtleis greatly increase, and the industry will proportionately expand. . 6. On these grounds the Provisional Direotore are confident of success, and therefore express a hope that fruit-growers and others will see the desirability of taking up up shares at once, so as to enable oper*tions to be commenced this season, and alio the absolute neoessity that all the shares should be taken up, so as to avoid having to pay interest on borrowed capital.
