The object for which this Proipootm ii ■ubmitted to the Pnblie is, to float a company for the purpose of manufacturing Jam and PreeerviDg Fruit. 2. During the past few few yean large quantities of fruit have gone to absolute wait# in thiediitriot, owing to there being no Market for the sale of it, and thna an avenue through which much wealth might bo acquired is at present shut up. Everyone must recognise that it it desirable to open up this avenue aa aeon aa possible; alio that the district ia admirably adapted for fruitgrowing, and that is an industry which would provide profitable employment for junior members of families owning small areas of land. 3. furthermore the moat diligent inquiries have ltd to the belief that the manufacture of Jam and the preserving of Fruit is very remunerative, and Shares in the proposed Company may reasonably bo expected to pay good dividends. 4. It is understood that the district at present produces sufficient fruit to make between forty and fifty tons of jam a year, and if the proposed factory is sstablisbed, and the people are thus provided with a certain market for their fruit, the supply will doubtless greatly increase, and the indnstiy will proportionately expand. i. (hi these grounds the Provisional Directors are confident of success, and therefore express a hope that fruit-growers and other* wUI see the desirability of taking up up shares at once, so as to enable operations to be commenced thie season, and also the absolute necessity that all the shares should be taken Up, eo as to avoid having to pay intscsstw
