WESLEYAN CHURCH, TEMUKA.
. The anniversary of the Sunday School in connection with the Temuka Wesleyan Church was celebrated last Sunday. The Rev. D. McNicoll preached in the morning and in the evening, and in the afternoon delivered a very instructive address to the children. The annual distribution of prizes to the children attending the Sunday School then took place. The Rev. Mr McNicoll presented the prizes as follows ; li Mb, Harrison’s Class.
There were also four special .prizes gi ven —two for good attendaoce, and two for-efficiency in Catechism. For the best attendance * the prizes went to Lily Brown aud Arthur Miles, and for efficiency in Catechism. Lily Brown and Thomas Hooper secured, the prizes. The special prizes were given by Mesdaraes E, Brown, J. Brown, Holwell, and Mason. Besides these a large number of smaliprizes were given, so that every child received a prize. There was a very large congregation at Oach of the services. Mr Harrison presided at the harmonium, and Messrs Rutand Storey assisted in the singing. Al the aftercoon services the children sung several hymns excellently, under the leadership of the Superintendent, Mr Dimond. A collection in aid of the school resulted in the sum of £2 7s 3d being received.
