Lewis. lankbbs : Bank of New South Wales (Temuka). Solicitor ; W. G. Aspinall (Temuka). Treasurer : J. A. Young. Broker : J. J. Ellis. Secretary : G. A. Smith. . 1. The object for which this Prospectus is submitted to the Public is, to float a company for the purpose of manufacturing Jam and Preserving Fruit. 2. During the past few few years large quantities of Fruit hare gone to absolute waste in this district, owing to there being no Market for the sale of it, and thus an avenue through which much wealth might be acquired is at present shut up. Everyone must recognise that it is desirable to open up this avenue as soon as possible; also that the district is admirably adapted for fruitgrowing, and that is an industry which would provide profitable employment for junior members of families owning small areas of land, 3. Furthermore the most diligent inquiries have led to the belief that the manufacture of Jam and the preserving of Fruit is very remunerative, and Shares in the proposed Company may reasonably be expected to pay good dividends. 4. It is understood that the district at present produces sufficient fruit to make between forty and fifty tons of jam a year, and if the proposed Factory is established, aod the people are thus provided with a certain market for their fruit, the sup ly will doubtless greatly increase, and the industry will proportionately expand. 5. On these ground* the Provisional Directors are confident of success, and therefore express a hope that fruit-growers and others will see the desirability of taking up up shares at once, so as to enable operations to be commenced this season, and also the absolute necessity that all the shares should be taken up, so as to avoid having to pay Internet on borrowed capital.
