■ AUCTIONEERS’ REPORT. XIMARTT. Messrs Grade, Maclean, and Adam report for the past week ending Saturday as follows : Horses—Our entry to-day consisted of 28 head draught and light with none over medium qualityin either class. As usual at this season of the year, and in the absence of any public works going on, there is very little demand for draught stock, especially for the description coming to hand lately, but even in these dull times, when any good and young sorts do put in an appearance, buyers are always to be found, provided we are not too heavily handicapped by “ reserves.” Our sales to-day were limited, prices for draughts reaching only £2l, and hacks £ll. ■Sheep—At Washdyke on Thursday there whs a full supply of fat sheep (all shorn), being slightly in excess of the requirements of the trade, in consequence of which prices were a shade easier than at last sates. We sold on acconn* of Megsrs pVgev'Mß9l l{ :V>; Stoddart, Pringle and-Oibell, 34- wethers at vs 8d ; 46 ■wethers at 7s lid ; 20 ewes at 5« 6d ; 80 ewes at 6s 8d ; 20 merino wethers, 4h 8d ; 80 crossbred ewes, 6s. There is but little business doing in store sheep, operations having to some extent been cheeked by the prevalence of “ nor-westere,” and the dread: on the part of gr«z : ers ofofeed running short. The, sale of store sheep which was advertised to take place on the 15th inst., has been postponed till the ,21st inst. !■ ■ Cattle—At Washdyke on Thursday the eqtry both of fat. and stores was. larger than of ; late, and business was more animated, very few lines being turned out unsold. Good whole fowl corn is at a premium, and wqrth 3s lid to 4s, f.ob. Oats. —The market shows no signs of returning activity.
