TEMUKA TOWN BOARD.

The monthly meeting of tha Temuka Town Board took pla'fl last evening. Present •—Messrs Blyth, Mason, and Coira. In the absence of Mr Gray, Mr Biyth wus voted to the chair. Mr Blyth apologised for the absence of Mr Gray, an .1 Mr Mason for that of Mr Brown. MINUTES. The minutes of the lait meeting were read and confirmed. correspondence. The following correspondence was dealt with : From the Treasury, Wellington, dated November 6th,; stating that the sum of 10s had been remitted to the credit of the Board for fines inflicted during the month at the R.M, Court for offences under the Town Board By-laws. From Messrs Priest and Holdgate, Timaru, quoting prices for drain pipes, overseer's report. The following report was read and approved : “ To the Chairman and Members Temuka Town Board. “ Gentlemen,— l have the honor to report that since last Board day two men have been employed finishing taking up drain pipes in Quinn’s paddock and putting in a concrete well, which is now completed with the exception pf the grate being hung. I have also had another well put down in Vine Street, _ at the junction of pipes before crossing the street. I have also had pipes laid from well to Bolton’s crossing and temporarily covered, and I intend, when any rubbish is caned out of the water-channels, to fill up the drain altogether as far as the pipes are laid. All tha pipes taken up have been carted into the Board’s yard and stacked. I have not had much done this month in clearing water-tables, as the two surface-men have only been employed three days, but I intend to finish that work this month, as the growth of grass at this time of the year is very great. —The balance in Bank last Board day was £214 5s 6d, and after paying last month’s accounts, amounting to £39 7s 9d, and allowing for moseys received and paid into the credit of the Board, £27 Bs, for rent of reserves, rates, fees under building regulations, and fees from B.M. Court, there is a balance in Bank to-day of £202 5s 9d,—l have, etc., “ George Dyson.” INSPECTOR OF NUISANCES' REPORT. “ Gentlemen, —As Inspector of Nuisances I have the honor to inform you that the sanitary condition of the town is very satisfactory. I have not heard of any complaints, nor have any come under my notice. —I have, etc., “George Dyson.” tenders. ACCOUNTS. Accounts to the amount of £25 13s lOd were passed for payment, and the meeting terminated.
