AUSTRALIANS V. CANTERBURY. The first innings of the Canterbury Eighteen in the match against the Australian Eleven closed on Friday night for 178 runs. The Australians followed, but had only secured two runs for the loss of one wicket when the stumps were drawn for the day. On Saturday the Australians continued tbeir innings, which closed for 99. The Canterbury representatives then went in for the second time, and at the conclusion of the day’s play had made 50 for the loss of seven wickets. The game was resumed yesterday, the Canterbury team scoring 139 runs before they were all disposed of. The last wicket fell at half past three o'clock.
