AROWHENUA TOWN BOARD.
A meettoff °f the above Board was held last evening. Present— Messrs E. Leo (Chairman), Story, Proudlock, Austin, and Edgeler. MINUTES. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. PSERYE^. The Chairman reported that at the interview with Mr Raker the following resolution was agreed to}—“That this Board recommend the grouping together of the reserves as follows ; Reserve 1700 be grouped to and 1702 to 1705, and sections 743, 750, 751, and 826 be exchanged for saclions 321, 322, 323, and 324; and sections 645, 650, 660, and 738 bo exchanged for sections 307, 308, 309, and 310; and sections 514, 519, 524, 603, 579, and fiBQ be exchanged for sections 454, 455, 436| 457, 453, and and that the Olerl? be ipstriipted to ask the Chief Surveyor to have the above reserves vested in the Board.” It was
now the question for the Board whether they would agree to this. Mr IS ','Mer said ha had do objaiUon t■ it. llu was quite agreeable to thi» course. On tho motion of Mr Prnudlnck. seconded by Mr Aumio, the resolution was agreed to. shingle reserve. The Chairman said they would ■ get a shingle reserve if they api.li H for it, and on the 'motion ot Mr Proud’ock, seconded by Mr Austin, Mr Edgpler and the Overseer were appointed to select a shingle reserve. FINANCE. The Chairman said Mr Baker had stated that there was no doubt but that they would now get the money in the hands of the Covetnment. They could now come to an agreement with the Road Board. Mr Story moved—“ That the Chairman wait on the Road Board at its next meeting, and accept their offer of £26; to make a demand for a share of the valu6j| of the pound \\ and if the ?Road Boanf offer to band to over to the Town Board altogether this Board will consider the offer.’' Mr Proudlock seconded the motion and it was agreed t«. TOWN BOUND ART. It was found that in proclaiming the town boundaries the road between the town, and tho Park, and the road at the east town belt were included in the town. Tho Town Board under these circumstances would have’> to maintain both roads. It was found that the Act gives power to alter the boundaries, and it was thought that the beat plan would be to have the alteration made so that the Board would only have to keep half these roads. -No decision was arrived at. ADJOURNMENT. After having talked over other matters, the Board adjourned to next Wednesday fortnight.
