At Winchester, -on the irame day, they sold 100 fat wethers;They "have no transactions in store sheep to report.
.7 Cattle---At Pleasant, Point monthly sale there was a large entry, principally young stores, .andcowsj/and at Wasbdyke yards on Thursday there were only a few beadjof store cattle!entered, and not a single fat beast. Owners of fat 'cattle will do-well to send them forward for next sale'j as they have several enquiries for beef. They have no sales of fat cattle to report. In stores they ■have sold calves at 15s each ; steers from £2 12s 6d to £4 15s, and cows from £3 15s to £4 2s 6<i. •if, Skins—On the 29th ultimo fhey catalogued over 150 C skins. There waa a good attendance of buyers, and sales showed a Blight advance on former Butchers' best sold at from 4s 9d to 5s 6d, second quality, 4s 3d and 4s 6d.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company held their first wool : sales of* the'season'this when 1000 bales were offered, and 800 bales sold. The attendance of buyers was large, continental firms being especially well represented. Prices realised were excellent, good greasy selling up to.lid per lb, and good greasy crossbreds np to • Scoured merinos realised 17|d. Greasy merinos of inferior qualities are from l|d to 2d, higl»er ; than atjfcbjs c!oße',of: last sen son, and scoured merinos 3£d to 4d higher. ENGLISH MA'RjrETS. London, Oct. 5. The total quantity of wheat afloat for the! United Kingdom is 1,620,000 quarters, or 30,000 quarters less than last week. New Zealand mutton is selling from 4d to 4£'l per !b. Adelaide wheat, ex store, 353; Adehaide flour, 245. New Zealand wheat, highest, 33s ; lowest, 28*. Large supplies from America hava tended to depress the flour market. All forward business is restricted. ; Beef tallow, 23s ; mutton, 15s 6d.
