AUCTIONEERS' REPORT.

GERALDINE. Messrs J. Mundell and Co. report sales for the week ending Saturday, 9tb Oct., 1886 : At the Geraldine Monthly Stock Sale on Wednesday the number of stock yarded was the smallest that has been for several months, owing, we supposp, to the inclemency of the weather during the sale. We notice an imdrovement in the value of store cattle, which no doubt is owing to grass having made its appearance in the paddocks once more. We quote prices during the day as follows : F«t cows, £7 12s 6d ; springers, in low condition, £2 to £3 78 6d ; two-year-old steers and heifers, £l l7s 6d ; yearlings, £llss to £2 3s 6d. Only one pen of fat sheep were yarded, which were withdrawn at a bid of I2d. Store pigs, 8s 6d t© 12s 6d ; weaners, at 2s 6d. On account of the Geraldine Dairy and Bacon-curing Company. Limited, we sold the whey and pig accommodation for the coming season at £4B. At Winchestor Fair on Thursday the entry of 6tock was an average one, comprising several lines of prime fat cattle And pheep, pnd for the different lots sold under our hammer we obtained the following prices:—For fat sheep, 14s ; fat steers, medium weights, L 7. .The major portion of the store cattle were passed in, prices not coming up to owners' expectations.
