WESLEYAN CHURCH, TEMUKA.

The circuit quarterly meeting of the Tomuka, Wesleyan Church; wad held on Tuesday evening last, at the ' residence of Mr J. Brown. There was a-good'at-tendance of present. The report'of Membership, Communicants, Catechumens etc., showed progress in each depaitment. It was agreed to hold the Sunday School anniversary on 12th December.' In this important sphere of Christian effort some progress was reported. Although the ways and moans were not at present within reach, it was considered eminently desirable to make additions to the Church in Temuka. A small grant in aid was re. quested from the Home Mission Fund ; but with the earnest hope that soon they would manage without such assistance. By kindly expressed resolution of the meeting, carried without a single dissentient voice, Ihe Her. W. *4. Thomas wae invited to labor in the circuit for a third year. A Committee, consisting of the Minister and the two Circuit Stewards

Watson ; Hilton, Mr J. Holwell; Raogitira Valley, Mr J. Wrighi; Pleasant Point. Mr Q. Butler ; Rangilata Island, Mr J. Watts, The usual quarterly tea was arranged for Bdi October at 6 p.m., In the Church; Messrs Lynch and Hooper to attend to the necessary details at the time. Consideration, of gift anction, to liquidate the sma'l circuit debt, was left ever until the March quarter. After several other matters bad been’ discussed a cordial vote of thanks was presented to Mr and Mrs J, Brown for their kindness and hospitality io . entertaining the members of the quarterly meeting.
